From PriceFor$ure:

Priceforsure_logo "If you are tired of fluctuating costs for advertising, get a hold on this special package offer. PriceforSure.com, a leading Comparison Shopping Site , which on average gets 8 million visitors monthly and already has over 4000 merchants in three months now has a Christmas special for those merchants who haven't hopped on board just yet. The next 50 merchants who sign-up between  now and November 3, 2007 will pay only $ 100 / mth regardless of the traffic cost that exceeds this amount whether  you sign up for PPC or PPA. The average merchant click through as per their CEO ranges from 2000 to 5000 per month. If the total payment amount does not equal the amount of the traffic cost, the remainder is credited to another month, but the cost never goes up. Visit their Merchant Area to Sign-Up.

4000 merchants on board and 8 million visitors monthly?

What percentage of the merchants are their own vs. from affiliate/syndication deal?

Also where do the visitors number coming from? Is that uniques?

Thanks.

Brian,

As you know with many of these CSEs they often times get many merchants from affiliates. Shopzilla says they have 80,000 merchants, but we know about 40,000 of them are through affiliates and syndication. TheFind.com, while trying to sign up clients, actually started their business model by spidering the net and Shopwiki.com (Kevin Ryan is a friend) started the same way and still has 90% of their clients through syndication....so I am unsure what you are asking...if you want to know how many merchants they have "in-house", so to speak, so you can try and sell your feed management product to them directly, I am unsure of that exact number, but give them a buzz....but then again you know all of this already, :-) right?!? If you don't, then contact KevinT@priceforsure.com and see what he says.

I am sure they would love to know about your product. As you sell a product in a very similar space as MerchantAdvantage -- I am sure they would love to hear from you to see how your product might be a better, or "other" offering than MerchantAdvantage's Channel Management Products with Analytics to help their clients.

On a side note, we talked a few weeks ago about your product and I was wondering -- are you going to be allowing your clients to send their feeds to Amazon.com or Shop.com anytime soon? -- or, for that matter, any marketing channel they choose? ...or are you still limited to 10? We find that merchants like the option, even if some of the channels are not as robust as some.

And you mention in this November's Internet Retailer how important it is to analyze how indvidual products and categories are performing across any marketing channel and within a channel. Are you still telling clients to use Google Analytics? I think you mentioned to me that you were trying to incorprate analytics in your product offering, have you done it yet...because with click fraud it is more and more important than ever to rely on a third party unbias analytic tool, as opposed to only analytics from the CSEs or even Google, as that tool may be bias to the Google Product Search feed.

Let me know and have a great week!

Chip,

I believe he was asking where the statistics of 8 million visitors monthly comes from. And if it is was raw unique visits or page views.

I'm not pointing fingers, but Compete.com and Alexa tell a very different story from the article. Compete claims around 8,000 monthly, a far cry from 8 million. While the information these two services provide should be taken with a grain of salt, I couldn't imagine they are both THAT far off.

Seems like the numbers may be inflated (whether it was uniques or page views). Am I missing something?
